Dear Wine-Loving Friends,
For 34 years, the Budapest Wine Festival has been raising a glass to fine wine and wine culture — with perseverance, dedication, constant renewal, and enduring success.
These are challenging times, marked by crises, wars, and uncertainty, and occasions for celebration can feel fewer and farther between. Yet this year, once again, the Wine Festival will open its gates — welcoming guests with the same number of exhibitors as before and an even richer programme to enjoy.
The word festival comes from Latin and once described occasions of celebration, feasting, and joy. We believe we have all the ingredients for just such a celebration. The setting alone is enough to inspire the spirit of the festival: the beautifully adorned courtyards of Buda Castle, paired with the sweeping view of the Danube embracing Budapest, create a backdrop that is both iconic and unforgettable.
Throughout the event, a refined and varied musical programme will add to the vibrant atmosphere. This year, the Halászó Gyerekek Courtyard will also host live performances that bring a heartfelt dimension to the festivities. Alongside Hungary’s finest wines, our international selection continues to grow. This year’s guests of honour — Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa — invite visitors on a unique wine journey across continents.
No celebration is complete without a feast. The Wine Festival has long been a gathering place for fine dining restaurants, whose numbers increase year by year. Visitors can enjoy delicious bites and a wealth of flavours, with a special highlight this year: Sunday Brunch, featuring sparkling wine specialities for an unforgettable gastronomic experience.
For those eager to deepen their knowledge and refine their palate, the VinAgora Interactive Wine Room offers opportunities for learning and discovery. As evening falls, the festival takes on a lighter, more playful mood, with the Mitiszol Party VIP Tent on the Savoyai Terrace once again becoming the lively heart of the night.
All that remains for a truly memorable celebration is good company — and that part is in the hands of our cherished guests. So bring your friends, gather your family, and share the festival’s wonderful moments — memories you’ll be glad to recall, even on the greyest weekday.
We look forward to raising a glass with you,
Zoltán Zilai
Director of the 34th Budapest Wine Festival
